15 Terms Everybody Is In The Item Upgrades Industry Should Know
Path of Exile Item Upgrades The performance of many Path of Exile items can be improved by upgrading the performance of them. They can also provide additional damage, AD or even affixes. Rare-grade equipment is often superior to the more modernized Common or Magic equipment due to their higher requirements. Armor Armor upgrades can be applied to both weapon and armor items. They increase the effectiveness of the item they're connected to. Armor upgrades are available in the world of games and can be purchased from Blacksmiths at bonfires. They can also be salvaged by using a professional or higher salvage kit to retrieve upgrade components from other items. The level of an armor's or weapon's upgrade determines the amount of damage it will take on. A piece of armor upgraded to maximum upgrade level will increase its damage absorption. It is important to keep in mind that this will increase the weight of the armor, so it must be more heavy. There are several kinds of armor upgrades that are available in the game and they all have distinct effects. Certain upgrades grant armor an extra amount of health points while others make it stronger and lighter. The name of the upgrade will indicate the type of upgrade the item can be given, as illustrated below. Some upgrades also feature magical or a combination of magic and technology, which is indicated by an “Magic” or “Hybrid” entry in the table below. Furthermore, some upgrades require a charge to use, which is indicated by an “Charges” entry in the table below. The charges associated with these upgrades change daily or never expire, according to the upgrade. Iron Ore is the cheapest way to upgrade your armor. It can be found by exploring and looting small loot chests. Titanium is more expensive, but it can be obtained through smelters in Orgrimmar and Stormwind City. Certain upgrades, like the Reforge and the Hot Potato Books, can only be applied to higher level armor pieces. These upgrades can provide a significant boost to stats and are worth the investment, especially for 1-handed weapons. The player should be aware, however, that upgrading a piece to the max upgrade level will increase its defense values. However, it can also reduce its agility and speed. This is why it is not recommended to upgrade the majority of armor pieces that are higher than +9 since the added defense is usually not worth the weight and power cost of the upgrades required. Weapons Weapon upgrades allow players to enhance certain aspects of their weapon. Upgrades can increase the accuracy of a rifle, or the damage that shotgun shells do. Certain weapons come with special enhancements to enhance their intrinsic characteristics. Frictionless materials (improves stability, minimizes the possibility of overheating), and Kinetic coils (increases the projectile's acceleration for greater damage) are two examples. The majority of upgrades to weapons require three Power Dices, a different amount of Minerals and Erons and a whetblade. These can be obtained by completing Side Quests, killing a certain amount of bosses or monsters, or by contacting the Weapon Upgrade NPC in Central Flarine. The process of upgrading a weapon, equipment Set piece or Whetblade requires visiting the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine and paying her an upgrade price that is based on a specific number of Bars. The higher the upgrade level, the higher the number of bars you will need to complete the upgrade. The cost of upgrading will be lower if have more than one of the upgrade materials. In Chapter 2: Season 5 the way you upgrade your weapon and equipment sets has changed a bit. Previously, you could seek out an Upgrade Bench and pay a set number of Bars to upgrade your equipment or weapon to a higher rarity. You could continue to do this until you reached a max upgrade level of the weapon or equipment, after which the upgrades would reset. You can still do this, however, the process is high on RNG and low on agency. Instead, you're much better off going to the stores and purchasing equipment with low upgrade levels but excellent base scores and stat distributions. They will also have a chance at gaining you the best tier of perks and blessings. Most players will want to make the most of upgrades to weapons they are most likely to use to help them level up quicker. Players should also upgrade the weapons that their teammates use to make them stronger. Shepard, for example, should upgrade the M92F so that he can unlock the Beretta M93R. This will increase the effectiveness of the weapon when accompanied with biotic specialists like Grunt and Tali. Jewels Jewels are used in the armor's sockets and weapons, increasing the stats of a weapon and providing additional effects. Jewelry crafting is the process of making them, in which you combine the gemstone with specific reagents in a jewelry table. The higher the quality of the jewel the better the secondary effect. These reagents are available from Treasure Goblins and World Bosses around the world, or by collecting Legendary Gear. You can also buy them from The Jeweler for gold and a Scattered Prism. The quality of a gem can be improved upon by the Jeweler, in stages that vary from Crude to Royal. Based on the level of the gem it can provide different stat boosts when inserted into weapons, equipment and jewelry. The Jeweler can craft all tiers of gems, except for the rare and legendary ones which you must attain certain levels to gain. Jewels can be substituted with another jewel without damaging the original. However you can only swap out the jewels in a piece of equipment once. It is normal to use more jewels for aesthetic reasons. The jewels also improve performance and make a surface harder than steel so that repeated friction from pivots do not cause damage to the movement. In addition to the upgrades mentioned above players can also acquire glyphs for their weapons and shields from a Glyphmaster. These glyphs provide a small boost and can be swapped, but they're not guaranteed to appear as loot. Glyphs, like jewelry, can be upgraded at the Jeweler in exchange for gold and Scattered Crystals. Glyphs can also be removed from the inventory, and they are returned to the inventory. Other upgrade components like traits or aegis can't be swapped, and can only be recovered by using an Upgrade extractor, or salvaging with Black Lion Salvage Kit or an Ascended Salvage tool. Trinkets Trinkets are a great way to provide your hero with a variety of small, but valuable benefits. They can be obtained in the beginning areas as loot, personal story rewards, from vendors, and through completing road interactions. They can also be crafted by jewelers and later found or purchased at the Trading Post. The first trinkets a player is able to unlock is the cloak, which gives a small but useful bonus to speed of movement and the ability to escape. The player can then acquire necklaces, amulets, and rings in a similar fashion to how they acquired weapons and armor. item upgrader of equipment has a slot for an upgrade that can be either universal or jewel. Universal upgrades offer smaller bonuses and can be used in any type of equipment while jewelry cannot be changed or upgraded and is only compatible with certain kinds of trinkets. These trinkets can provide additional bonuses and abilities that are active even when the hero isn't fighting. This lets a hero be more efficient when they are not active. It also helps compensate for the absence of strong slot in the talent tree or team which are usually filled by the hero's optimal stats. A good rule of thumb for trinket upgrades is to prioritize BiS (Best-in-Slot) items that you aren't planning to replace soon, followed by any items with desirable stats, but less important than the iLevel of the item to be upgraded. This is especially true if you want to upgrade multiple stats on an item. It is more beneficial to upgrade a single important stat rather than two suboptimal ones. Jungle players often upgrade their yellow trinkets to a red trinket at the start of the game. Mid and top players on the other hand will pick either a pink or green ward, based on the game's matchup. These choices will have an impact on the ability of a hero to control the map. In addition to the items mentioned above, players will find other trinkets in the form of trophies and rewards throughout the game. These can be earned by completing certain milestones in the story, like finishing a chapter's main quest or killing a certain boss. You can check them out by selecting the achievement in the reward section of the hero's menu.
